What is KMAT 2023?

Important Dates for KMAT 2023
The KMAT entrance exam for the year 2023 is scheduled to take place on 2nd July 2023. The application process for the exam has started in the month of June 2023. Candidates are advised to keep a check on the website for regular updates.

KERALA MANAGEMENT APTITUDE TEST SESSION – II ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR MBA (KMAT-2023)
Eligibility criteria for KMAT 2023:
Candidates who have completed their Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university are eligible to apply for KMAT 2023. Final year students are also eligible to apply.
- Nationality and Nativity: Indians and Non-Indians eligible to apply
- Keralite candidates eligible for all types of reservations or fee concessions
- No age restrictions
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration in Arts, Science Engineering, Commerce, Management or equivalent fields
- Candidates appearing for the final year of qualifying exams also eligible, provided results are declared before commencement of admission process
- Attained minimum marks stipulated by respective universities for MBA course admission
Candidates should have completed a Bachelors Degree of minimum three years duration in the fields of Arts, Science Engineering, Commerce, Management or equivalent to satisfy the eligibility criteria for the course. Candidates who are appearing for the final year of the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply, provided their results are declared before the commencement of the admission process for the KMAT 2023.
Candidates should have attained the minimum marks stipulated for admission to the MBA course by the respective universities to which they wish to apply

Selection Process for KMAT 2023
The selection and admission to the MBA course are subject to fulfilment of the admission criteria, eligibility, and other criteria as prescribed by the government, universities, and institutions. Applications of candidates submitting false or fabricated information will be rejected. The candidature of the candidate is purely provisional and subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria prescribed by the admitting institutions.
Computer Based Test for KMAT 2023
On 02.07.2023 (Sunday), the Entrance Examination (Computer Based Test) will be conducted at centers across all districts in Kerala. The examination will last for three hours and comprise 180 Objective Type questions of four marks each (Total 180x 4=720). However, for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.
The 180 questions will be based on four subjects:
a) English Language Usage and Reading Comprehension (50 Questions),
b) Quantitative Aptitude (50 Questions),
c) Data sufficiency and Logical Reasoning (40 Questions)
d) General Knowledge and current affairs (40 Questions).
Detailed time schedule and other instructions regarding the examination will be notified later.
Qualifying Marks for KMAT 2023
- General category/SEBC candidates who secure cut-off marks of 10%% of the total 720 marks,i.e., 72 marks and above.
- SC/ST/PD category candidates who secure a cut-off mark of 7.5% of the total marks, i.e., 54 marks
Will be eligible for admission to MBA Course in various Universities/Departments and affiliated management colleges, including autonomous management colleges in Kerala.

The Application Fee as follows :

The application fee is Rs.1,000-(Rupees One Thousand only) for General and SEBC candidates and Rs.750/ (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only) for SC/ST candidates (see Annexure I, II and IV of the KMAT 2023 Information Bulletin for SC,ST, SEBC lists). Candidates seeking admission to the course can apply online through the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations from 05.06.2023 to 12.06.2023, 04.00 PM.
They can remit the required application fee by way of online payment or by way of e-challan available while applying online for the entrance examination. They can use Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card for online payments. The application fee, once remitted, will not be refunded. After remitting the fee the candidate has to upload a recent passport size colour photograph and signature to the online application.
After completing the application submission procedure, candidates can download the Application Acknowledgement Page and keep a copy of it for future reference. Fees will neither be carried forward to a future examination nor refunded. Applications once submitted cannot be withdrawn.
Candidates must note that the mere deduction of fees from the bank account is not proof of fee payment.In the event of a successful payment, the Pay Application Fee tab on the online application screen will turn green. If the payment attempt fails, the candidate should make the payment again after ensuring that the Pay Application Fee tab has not turned green even after the next login.
If the account is debited in an
unsuccessful transaction, under normal circumstances, the steps required to be taken for the deducted amount to be refunded to the same account from which the transaction was attempted, will be completed within 5 working days from the date of the transaction. The Application Acknowledgement page generated after the completion of the online application submission process will also contain the payment transaction reference number

Admit Card of KMAT 2023
The candidates who have applied for the entrance examination (Computer Based Test) can download their Admit Cards from the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in on the date to be announced by CEE. The admit card thus obtained should be brought to the examination hall along with a valid ID Proof. The Commissioner for Entrance Examination will not entertain any request for a change of the date/centres of the entrance examination once declared.

Preparation Tips for KMAT 2023
To ace the KMAT 2023, candidates must have a strong grip on concepts related to Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and English Language Comprehension. Regular practice with previous years’ question papers and mock tests can build confidence and improve speed and accuracy.
General Instructions for KMAT 2023
- Merely appearing and qualifying in KMAT 2023 does not confer any right on the candidate for admission to the MBA course.
- The selection and admission to the MBA course are subject to the fulfilment of the admission criteria, eligibility, and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the government, universities, and institutions.
- Applications of candidates submitting false and fabricated information will be rejected, and such candidates will be further debarred from appearing in Examinations conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination.
- Such candidates are liable to be prosecuted under applicable laws for criminal offense and suitably punished.
- Incomplete applications and applications not in accordance with instructions are liable to be rejected without any further intimation.
- Instructions in the Information Bulletin may change/be updated based on decisions taken by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination and other authorities from time to time.
- Candidates are advised to check regularly the website, www.cee.kerala.gov.in, for any further updates or information.
- The Commissioner for Entrance Examination reserves the right to withdraw permission, granted inadvertently if any, to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the KMAT 2023 even after their admit card has been issued by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination.
- Candidature for KMAT 2023 is purely provisional and is subject to the fulfilment and proof of eligibility criteria prescribed by the admitting institutions as applicable
